How often should I change my oil?
As a general baseline, we recommend every 5,000 miles. Newer Ford models with an Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor® are best at fine-tuning this — but it factors in driving conditions, not just mileage. Frequent towing and extended idle time, both common here in the Pacific Northwest, can trigger an earlier oil change than mileage alone would suggest.
Synthetic blend or full synthetic?
Most Ford maintenance schedules call for the synthetic blend Motorcraft® oil used in The Works®. Some performance and diesel applications require full synthetic — and if you'd simply prefer it, upgrading is easy, just ask your service advisor when you schedule.
