2020 Ford Super Duty Configurations

We don't have all of the information on the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty configurations yet but expect them to remain similar to the 2019 lineup. This would include six trim levels plus the new Tremor package: XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Platinum, Tremor & Limited. The 2020 Ford F-350 might also feature the same trims, just like in 2019, mimicking the same trim levels as the F-250. On top of that, the Ford F-450 also offered the same six trim options last year. If you need more work capability, towing capacity and power that Ford commercial fleet trucks offer, you can choose a 2020 Chassis Cab F-550 or one of the other 2020 Ford Super Duty Chassis models instead. If you're in the business for it, the 2020 Ford F-650 and 2020 Ford F-750 are available as Class 6-7 trucks. The newest confirmed addition for the 2020 Super Duty lineup is the 2020 Ford Super Duty Tremor; a complete off-road package setup for the 2020 Super Duty much like the Raptor trim for the Ford F-150.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Towing Capacity

The automaker released the new, high-output 7.3-liter V8 engine for the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty. This changes the towing capacity, but we haven't seen final numbers yet to reflect how much. With a 2019 model, we saw towing ability up to 18,500 pounds. Jumping up from there, the 2019 Ford F-350 tows up to 32,000 while the F-450 takes that number to 35,000 pounds. With the 2020 Ford Super Duty 7.0 V8 or one of the other F-250 engine options, it's clear to see that this truck will handle just about anything.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Payload

We are still waiting on the final numbers, but figure the 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty should have larger payload numbers than last year's model. The 2019 Ford F-250 payload capacity reached 4,332 pounds.

2020 Ford Super Duty Changes

The biggest change new owners will find with a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty is the extra engine option. This increases power and towing capacity. We also plan to see the Tremor, a new off-road variant. Of course, Ford remains ahead of the competition by also adding the latest tech features as well.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Engine Options

The company plans to continue offering the existing 6.2-liter V8 engine as the base for a 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty. It comes paired to a six-speed automatic transmission. With the 2020 Ford F-350, users can expect a new ten-speed automatic instead. On an F-450, there's a brand new 6.7-liter turbo-diesel engine, which is also optional on both the F-250 and F-350. Still, the biggest engine news is the new 7.3-liter V8 paired to the ten-speed auto. You can get this on both the F-250 and F-350. We are waiting on further specs and power output on the 2020 Ford F-250 7.3.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Technology

A 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty features some updated standard tech. Every trim level now comes with a 4G LTE modem and Wi-Fi hotspot. Other available features include the Pro Trailer Backup Assist which helps while reversing with your trailer attached. On the XLT trim or higher, standard safety technology includes lane departure warning, automatic high-beam control, automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, and a blind-spot monitor.

2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty Interior

There are three configurations available with the 2020 Ford F-250. Choose from the regular cab, SuperCab or Crew Cab variants, depending on how much interior room you require. Even the base models come equipped with a rearview camera, air conditioning, vinyl upholstery, four-speaker sound system, driver information center plus a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel.

The 2020 Ford F-250 Super Duty comes with some exciting updates. The Ford F-250 redesign includes a larger grille and new front bumper. This pulls more air into the truck's powertrain. With a dual-rear-wheel model, drivers receive an even bigger grille to add more airflow capacity. Ford also restyled the tailgate and tail lights.

Ford Super Duty: F-250 vs. F-350 vs. F-450

When evaluating the 2020 Ford F-250 versus other Super Duty models, the main differences include the towing ability, GVWR, dimensions and engine options. As you go up in the Super Duty models, F-250 to F-350 to F-450 and so on, the Super Duty trucks tend to increase in weight with slightly larger dimensions. The 2020 F-250 has a standard 6.2-liter V8 plus six-speed automatic. Upgrading to the 2020 Ford F-350 adds the ten-speed automatic. The 2020 F-450 adds an extra wheel on the rear axle for a total of 4 tires in the back. The differences between the F-350 and F-450 are more subtle.
